What Stresses You Out About Money?

If you’re like me, life didn’t go as planned! Instead of living in denial that your financial life’s peachy keen, I’m your girl to vent to about money stress. What stresses you out about money?

March is the end of the first quarter and the perfect time to review what you wanted for 2021 and how you’re doing so far. As a gift for being a reader, during March you can book a 15-mintue money coaching session with me (for free!)! Reserve your spot here!

Here are three things I want to hear from you during your 15-minute money coaching session:

1. What stresses you out about money?

I’m a major advocate for therapy and keeping your mental health in check. You gotta feel the feels (however soul crushing they are)! I’m no therapist, but money’s a major source of stress, anxiety, and depression and impacts you to the core of what you want in life.

It could be your bank account isn’t where you want it to be. You never have enough money for necessities. Or you want to spend money on what matters to you, like an electric car, but instead money goes to credit card debt. Maybe you fear you’ll miss out on having your own home one day. Are you stumped on why you make a decent income, but have nothing to show for it and still live paycheck to paycheck?

There’s power in acknowledging pain. Define what exactly stresses you out about money.

2. What are your top three money targets?

Next, we’ll talk about what outcomes do you want with money? Once you know your main pain points with money, you can get clear on what you want financially. You don’t need to spend the rest of your life paying for the financial mistakes you made in college and your twenties. Here are common money targets:

  • Get (and stay) out of debt
  • Save to travel more
  • Put together a plan to buy a home or condo
  • Invest for retirement (confidently)
  • Create a big picture monthly budget
  • Build savings for an emergency
  • Have a plan for kids (extra daycare expenses, college fund, etc.)
  • Ditch online emotional spending
  • Reduce financial anxiety

3. What’s holding you back from getting the results you want with money?

Lastly, if you feel like you’re doing everything you can to pay off debt and build savings, but haven’t made progress you want with money, then what’s holding you back?

If you constantly think, “I’m gonna do the dang thing. I’ll pay off my debt and max out my 401(k)!” And promptly nothing happens (for the fourth year in a row!). Then there’s a roadblock! What is it? Is analysis paralysis holding you back? It’s hard to know where to start with money and easy to feel overwhelmed with all the decisions you need to make. You end up making no decisions at all! Maybe you feel uneducated and intimidated by finance. You don’t even know, what you don’t know with money! Shame or embarrassment kicks in! Your income is low, or worse yet, you make great money and still find yourself with tons of debt! If you’re like me, you get stuck with wanting everything to be done the “perfect way,” but life’s never perfect! Let’s meet where you are now! You don’t need to figure this money stuff out alone.

Save your spot here for your 15-minute coaching session for the end of the first quarter! If you have friends, family, or coworkers who also geek out on personal finance, then they can get a 15-minute coaching session too, share this with them! Don’t forget, if you enroll in Best Money Class Ever, my signature 4-week class by March 10th, you can bring a friend for free!

Remember, you only live once, be smart with your money now!
